​Licensing & Permits: What You Need to Know
Staying compliant with the UK Gambling Commission is essential, but we make the process simple for you. The requirements depend on your venue type:

Pubs & Alcohol Licensed Premises: You have an automatic entitlement to two gaming machines (Category C or D) upon notification to your local licensing authority. If you wish to host more than two machines, you must apply for a Licensed Premises Gaming Machine Permit.

Members' Clubs: Clubs can apply for a Club Machine Permit, which allows for up to three gaming machines (Category B3A, B4, C, or D). Notably, you are only permitted one B3A machine per venue.

Machine Games Duty (MGD)
Revenue generated from gaming machines is exempt from VAT but is subject to a specific tax called Machine Games Duty (MGD). You must register for MGD with HMRC before your machines are made available for play.

Standard Rate (20%): Applies to most fruit machines (Category C, B4, and B3A) where the cost to play is more than 20p and the cash prize is more than £10.
